When I first started the GamestormEDU blog, the posts focused around the arrival of our daughter, Sloane, and the development of Gamestormers, our first game. Sloane is now three, and we have spent the past two years developing our next game, Doomscroll.
Much like Sloane and Gamestormers, the majority of Doomscroll’s development occurred while my wife was pregnant with our second child. When I learned that we were expecting another girl in April of 2024, I had a realization – I needed to move up the Kickstarter campaign for Doomscroll… immediately! I had initially planned to run the campaign in April, but we moved up the crowdfunding to February 2024 to ensure there was enough time to run the campaign before baby arrived, heh.
Thanks to an incredible 220 backers providing $11,670, Doomscroll is now a reality! We are currently putting the final touches on the game’s graphics and layout, and soon our manufacturer will begin production of the end product.
Even though I’m ecstatic about Doomscroll entering the world, I had a bigger addition to welcome to the family this month. On April 16th, Quinn joined our family. We’re so in love with her already, and her big sister, Sloane, loves spending time with her too. Both our family full of girls and our library full of games grew by one this year!
I was fortunate to put Sloane in our first game, Gamestormers. In Doomscroll, I added my niece and nephew as characters. With Quinn having arrived after Doomscroll was completed, I’ve got a problem on my hands… she needs to be in a game! Thankfully, I’ve got another game in development, and you can be sure that Quinn will make an appearance in it. Stay tuned everyone, and thank you for your support for Doomscroll!
