What People Love About Gamestormers and Doomscroll

What people love about our games with two laughing interviewees.

I am incredibly grateful for all of the wonderful people who try our game, buy our game, and share our games with learners at their local school, library, or game night! When asked recently about testimonials for our game, I went back and tried to document some of those comments folks have made over the years about our games and what I take away from them. Check them out below!

“It’s very family friendly and there’s a creative side to it, so I feel like it’s appealing to all ages” - Danielle, Mom of 3, about Gamestormers

One consistent refrain I hear about Gamestormers is the range of players who can pick up the game and really enjoy it. When designing the game, we hoped that fans of both strategy and storytelling would find aspects they liked. We also included detailed and beautiful art in the game to allow even young players to make up stories based on the images and not rely on the names of the cards.

“What I liked most was the option for you to create your own story. You can actually make your own game.” - Camren, Age 11, about Gamestormers

Lots of times when I introduce Gamestormers to a group of adults, they get nervous about whether young kiddos are ready to create their own stories from the cards they collect. I tell them that I’ve never had a young player fail to produce a unique story in all of my experiences teaching and playing the game at local schools and libraries. Camren’s favorite part of the game is a common positive I hear from youth – they LOVE the creative possibilities!

“This game encourages students to critically examine their digital habits as well as the information they consume, which fosters crucial media literacy skills in a fun and interactive way. - Andrea, Middle School Librarian, about Doomscroll

Our number one purchasers are library media specialists and librarians, and for good reason – our games promote literacy, storytelling, and fun! As Andrea shared, Doomscroll is all about being more self-aware of how social media tries to bend and shape our perceptions of the world and echo back our interests on our screens. The game was designed to be a fun and engaging way to think about how we can be more healthy users of social media platforms overall.

“I love the aesthetic of this game. The cards, the artwork, are absolutely beautiful… It really captures the mood and vibe of that social media feed quite well!” - Lola, Reviewer and Homeschooling Parent, about Doomscroll

One of our biggest goals with all of our games is to accurately capture the sensation of being in the role and powers you’ve been given in the game world. For Doomscroll, we wanted everything you do to feel like you are pulling the strings in this fantasy social media world, and Lola’s comments reinforce how we made sure both the gameplay and visual theme delivered on that goal.
